I've had an entire stock of pure coconut milk soap lying around and decided to try my hand at soap carving. (Pure coconut = too much coconut produces very hard bars and too much coconut in a product can dry skin or hair out, so take note. It's properties are amazing however, so it's used for it's goodness and to help bars made with softer ingredients just a little harder.) It was a pain to carve because of the pockets of air and the hardness of the bar; I kept accidentally taking huge chunks off so it ended up being just a little over an inch long.
I didn't have any blue paint or colorant so I had to use nail polish. So needless to say it won't be used. But it is cute. Now I know soap carving isn't one of my strong suits. So I'll be using clay and resin to make custom molds and stamps soon instead.
